- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for CPR Training:
- Q: I took a CPR class but cannot find the email to claim my card or I have claimed it, but cannot find it again. Where can I find my card?
- A: First, check for an email from eCards@heart.org with a link inviting you to claim your eCard online. Please make sure to check your spam or junk folder. If you are unsuccessful in locating your card, visit https://cpr.heart.org/en/resources/faqs/how-to-claim-and-view-your-aha-ecard to find information applicable to you. If you are still having trouble claiming or getting your card, contact Casey Stafseth, Fire & Life Safety Educator via email at cstafseth@countrysidefire.com to resend the email or to provide your eCard code.
- Q: Will I receive a certification after the course?
- A: Yes, upon completion of a CPR course, for both Heartsaver and BLS courses, attendees will receive an American Heart Association CPR card valid for 2 years. This will be sent via email within about a week from the course date.
- Q: I am a teacher and need a K-12 certification. How can I get this certification?
- A: Sign up for one of our Heartsaver courses and tell the instructor that you are a tacher in need of this certification. We will work with you to make sure you get the right card.
- Q: I have a child or student interested in learning CPR. What is the minimum age requirement?
- A: The American Heart Association mandate a minimum age requirement for learning CPR, nor does Countryside Fire Protection District. The ability to perform CPR is based more on body strength than age. Studies have shown that children as young as nine years old can learn and retain CPR skills. Please speak with us if you have any concerns.
- Q: I am not a healthcare professional and I need a CPR/AED course for work purposes. Which course should I take?
- A: It is recommended to take one of the Heartsaver® courses, unless an employer states otherwise.
