Car seats and booster seats provide protection for infants and children in a crash, yet car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13. It’s important to choose the right seat and use it correctly every time your child is in the car.
For this reason, it is our goal to work with parents and caregivers to check child passenger seats (Also known as carseats) to ensure they are installed correctly, are the correct type of seat, and more, to keep your child safe. For your convenience of our Fire District residents, we have two locations where we can assist you. An appointment is not necessary; however, we do ask that you give the station a courtesy call approximately 15 minutes prior to your arrival to make sure our on-duty car seat technician is available. Although Countryside Fire Protection District offers free car seat inspections and instruction as a community service, the ultimate responsibility for the child’s safety rests with the parent or driver of the vehicle.
