The Pension Board is responsible for managing Countryside’s Downstate Pension investments. The board is made up of two active firefighters contributing to the pension and one retired firefighter elected by the members of the pension, the president of the Board of Trustees, and the fire chief.

Generally the Pension Board meets the third Thursday of every other month at 6:45 PM at the Countryside Headquarters (600 N. Deerpath Drive, Vernon Hills) before the Board of Trustees meeting. As required by the Illinois Open Meetings Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, Ch. 102, par. 41 et seq.), all Pension Board meetings are open to the public, and the Countryside Fire Protection District posts the schedules, agendas, and minutes for Pension Board meetings.
