CPR & First Aid Classes
Countryside offers a variety of American Heart Association cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED), and first aid classes for lay rescuers through healthcare professionals. Regularly scheduled classes are held the last Tuesday of the month at 6 PM at Station 2, 600 N. Deerpath Drive, Vernon Hills. The two classes offered are Heartsaver® First Aid which includes Adult, Child, and Infant CPR along with an introduction to using an AED and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers which includes Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, AED training as well as training in 2-person CPR and the use of a bag-valve-mask device. Each class costs $50, and they are offered on alternating months. To register for one of these classes, contact Administrative Assistant Nancy Gibbs at (847) 367-5511 or ngibbs@countrysidefire.com.
Additionally, Countryside can arrange to do additional classes for private groups such as businesses, civic groups, employers, contractors, or schools. Contact Public Education Coordinator Tony Rodkey at (847) 367-5511 or arodkey@countrysidefire.com to discuss available options.
