Countryside Server Transition Project Updates
This page is intended for Countryside Fire personnel.
COMPLETELY UPDATED Thursday, July 24, 6:30 PM
The servers will be physically moved into the server room on Saturday evening. This will require them to be turned off briefly during the move which will result in a brief, total network and email outage. Dispatch CAD may remain operational.
All of the computers have been transitioned onto the new server/domain. All users need to log on to the new server/domain by Monday morning. Anyone who does not will be locked out of the system and email. Instructions on how to log in the first time and change your password are available at both stations. You will have to go to a station to log in the first time.
Once you have logged into the new domain, email will be accessed by going to http://webmail.countrysidefire.com, entering your username as CSIDE\username, and then entering your new password. Windows Mobile and Blackberry users should contact IT Coordinator Dinsch for additional configuration information. Mac users may require a security certificate available from Dinsch to access the site.
Starting next week and running for the next couple of weeks, every computer will be reimaged with updated and standardized software including Microsoft Office 2007, Firehouse, and RemoteAccess. To familiarize yourself with Office 2007, you can visit http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/HA102255331033.aspx. The new image will be more restrictive than the current one to ensure the systems remain standardized. Special requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Any questions should be directed to IT Coordinator Dinsch.
